Pastor’s Perspective

Mark 6:30-32
30  The apostles returned to Jesus and told him all that they had done and taught. 31 And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat. 32  And they went away in the boat to a desolate place by themselves.

Rest! We all need  it. It’s nice to be able to just get away, not have to worry about things, and get our batteries recharged. Jesus knew the importance of rest and told the Apostles to get to a desolate place and rest a while. Jesus knows that if we keep going and going, eventually we will run ourselves down and be of no use to no one.

So we are going to take Jesus’s words to heart and take a rest from our labor.

For the month of July, we will not have any midweek study or worship and prayer night. We are going to recharge our batteries. So go enjoy some time away with family and friends. Rest, relax, and rejuvenate. Let’s come back fully refreshed and ready for what God has for us the rest of the year. Enjoy life!!
